RECRUITMENT OF PROGRAMME OFFICER – SOCIAL AND BEHAVIOUR CHANGE

The Institute for Media and Society (IMS) is an independent, non-governmental organization based in Nigeria. It aims to help build and improve the communication capacity and environment of the media, civil society and governance institutions to facilitate improved participation in democracy and development in Nigeria.

The Institute intends to recruit a Programme Officer into its Social and Behaviour Change  Programme.

Position Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Length of contract: One (1) year with possibility to renew for a second year

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Support the development and implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Programme
  2. Maintain a database of human and material resources for project implementation
  • Contribute to yearly programme/project plans
  1. Participate in the implementation of activities
  2. Produce activity reports and link with ME&L team.
  3. Liaise with partners and other organisations that are implementing similar programmes.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned

 

 

 

Competencies

  1. Understanding of social and behaviour change theories and application in various development sectors
  2. Familiarity with institutions that work on social and behaviour change locally and internationally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  1. Strong analytical, writing and reporting skills

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Political Science, Development Studies or other relevant fields
  • A higher degree will be an advantage

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in development sector
  • Good field record

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English
  • Skill in any Nigerian (indigenous) language will be an asset.
