The Institute for Media and Society (IMS) and Nigeria Community Radio Coalition (NCRC) have produced a document to guide community radio stations on the recruitment and management of volunteers.
The document titled: FRAMEWORK FOR ENGAGEMENT OF VOLUNTEERS IN COMMUNITY RADIO STATIONS is meant for the use of community radio stations which are operating in Nigeria.
The Executive Director of IMS, Dr. Akin Akingbulu, said that the framework was developed in response to expressed needs revealed in consultations with community radio operators. He explained that the use of the document will strengthen community radio managers in addressing the sustainability issues of their organizations.
The government of Nigeria licenced seventeen pioneer community radio stations in 2015, following many years of advocacy by stakeholders across Nigeria.
